Inspired by the Government’s “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 years of Progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements, Confluence has been hosting “Bharat Mahotsav” in different nooks and corners of the globe to showcase the rich legacy of Indian Crafts and Culture. Ever since it came into existence, Confluence has been hosting events all over to propagate the idea of New India, and Self Reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat). The hallmark of their events has been its thrust to empower the different sections of the society especially the talented and the unsung heroes.
The core objective of the Zurich event was to give a big fillip to the promotion of Brand Bharat overseas, and a showcase of country’s timeless rich, and diverse cultural heritage before a global audience.
With the objective of hailing and promoting the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”, the event had myriad components comprising Bharat Gaurav Samman (Award for Leadership & Excellence in different categories), Swadeshi Manch (Cultural extravaganza), Swadeshi Wellness by Health and Wellness Guru Dr Mickey Keki Mehta, Swadeshi Connect (B2B Meeting) followed by Indian traditional dance performances and Swadeshi Parade (Fashion Show by Rina Dhaka).
The Chief Guest of the Special Conclave on 21stNovember’21 was MoS (External Affairs and Culture) Meenakshi Lekhi who connected with the august gathering through Video conferencing from India.
Having won accolades for hosting spectacular events the world over, Confluence NGO has been promoting the diverse cultural legacy of the country.
Notable amongst those who were part of the Bharat Mahotsav Zurich celebrations included the likes of KS Kochhar, Rakesh Sonkar, Sandeep Marwah, Ruby Bakshi Khurdi, Dr Mickey Keki Mehta, Rina Dhaka, Smita Shrivastav (Founder & Chairperson, Confluence), Rahul Sonkar, Parveen Rani, Mahender Sinh C. Jadeja to name a few.
Team Confluence and the delegation to Zurich were overwhelmed on receiving the good wishes from Minister Meenakshi Lekhi who appreciated the initiatives of Confluence in organizing cultural, business, and knowledge exchange events that were in sync with two of the most novel and inspiring initiatives of PM Narendra Modi namely “Make in India” and “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
Speaking on the occasion, Smita Shrivastav (Founder of Confluence) said, “Confluence is a unification of skills, talents, and leadership. Our key focus has been on promoting the indigenous Khadi & the Handloom Industry, in the process empowering Women from various rural villages. We have gone the extra mile to provide a robust platform to our artisans, weavers, and craftsmen for helping them present their work to the global market. Our initiative aims to preserve and cherish the rich ancient heritage of India in Art and Culture.”
Added KS Kochhar, Governing Council of Confluence, “Confluence has carved a niche for itself in the last 5 years of its existence having hosted mega-events in London, UK (2018 & 2019) ensued by Dubai, UAE earlier this year. With the Confluence foraying into different destinations of the world, we are sure that the global movement of Bharat Mahotsav will play a vital role in fostering business excellence, cultural amalgamation, and promoting everything that is “Made in India”. This will give a big boost to PM’s slogan of “Make in India- Made for the World” as well as “Vocal for Local”.”
As part of the much-awaited “Swadeshi Parade”, there was a surprise sequence themed “The Soul of Banaras”. The highlight of this was the launch of a 100% Swadeshi Fashion Label named “Smita”. The Bespoke Swadeshi Fashion Show was choreographed by Sandeep Soparkar and presented by Bollywood model Simran Ahuja.
The Global movement of Bharat Mahotsav @ Zurich was successful in promoting the Best of India on the global forum, thus paving the way for the opening of new frontiers for all those associated with the event. A win-win state for all the stakeholders that have pledged to show the real prowess and might of “New India”.
